The Woodward easYgen-1500 Series is a second-generation genset controller designed for single-unit operation, offering exceptional flexibility and a user-friendly experience. Model 8440-1809 is a high-performance controller in this series, featuring a large graphical display suitable for various applications ranging from simple measurement conversion to complex automatic mains failure (AMF) and standby power systems.

This controller integrates several innovative technologies, including FlexApp™, DynamicsLCD™, FlexIn™, FlexCAN™, and LogicsManager™, allowing users to freely configure the controller’s functions, I/O, and logic according to specific application needs. Whether used for engine control, single-breaker control, or dual-breaker (GCB/MCB) AMF applications, the easYgen-1500 provides reliable and accurate genset protection and control.

The 8440-1809 employs true RMS measurement technology, supports wide-voltage FlexRange™ inputs, and incorporates comprehensive generator, engine, and mains protection. Its compact flush-mounting design, multi-language interface, event recorder, and various communication interfaces make it an ideal choice for industrial power generation, marine applications, standby power, and island operation.

  • FlexIn™ Configurable Analog Inputs: Two analog inputs freely configurable for VDO sensors, PT100, resistive inputs, 0/4-20 mA, etc., with 2-point linear or 9-point user-defined curves.

  • FlexCAN™ Communication: Isolated CAN bus supporting CANopen, CAL, or J1939 protocols; connects to easYlite remote annunciator, third-party expansion cards, or ECUs (Scania, Volvo, Deutz, mtu).

  • LogicsManager™ Logic Management: Combine numerous measured values, inputs, internal states, and constants to flexibly control relay outputs or internal functions.

  • Multi-Language Support: 10 languages built into a single unit (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese), switchable on-site.

  • Event Recorder: Stores 300 time-stamped events (FIFO) with battery-backed real-time clock (minimum 6 years).

  • Remote Monitoring & Control: Supports RS-232 Modbus RTU slave for remote communication, as well as remote control via digital signals or CAN bus.

  • Wide-Range Power Supply: 6.5 to 40.0 Vdc, compatible with 12 V and 24 V systems.

  • Full Certifications: CE marked, UL/cUL listed, GL and LR marine approvals.

FlexApp™ Application Modes

The easYgen-1500 Series supports four configuration modes via FlexApp™ technology. Users can select the appropriate mode without hardware changes.
