330130-080-01-00 is a Bently Nevada 3300 XL series standard extension cable with a total length of 8.0 meters (26.2 feet). This model adds stainless steel armor to the standard FEP-insulated cable, providing excellent crush resistance, tensile strength, and abrasion protection, but does not include connector protectors.
It is an essential component of the 3300 XL 8 mm eddy current probe system, specifically designed for installations requiring resistance to mechanical wear, crushing, and pulling stress without the need for additional environmental sealing of the connectors. Typical applications include conduit routing and industrial environments with mechanical vibration where connector sealing is not required.
Following Bently Nevada’s part number coding system, the fields in this model number represent the following:
Field | Code | Parameter | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Base Model |
| 3300 XL Standard Extension Cable | Compatible with 3300 XL 8 mm and 3300 5 mm series probes |
Length Option |
| 8.0 meters (26.2 ft) | Total cable length, suitable for long-distance signal transmission |
Cable Option |
| Armored Cable (No Connector Protector) | Stainless steel armor provides mechanical protection; no pre-installed connector protectors |
Agency Approval |
| Not Required | Standard industrial version for non-hazardous areas or applications where ATEX/IECEx certification is not needed |
Key Configuration Note: The
01cable option is the defining feature of this model. Compared to00(standard cable), this model adds stainless steel armor for higher mechanical protection. Compared to03(armored + protector), it does not include connector protectors, making it suitable for applications where environmental sealing of connectors is unnecessary, while also offering a lower cost.
The armor layer consists of flexible AISI 302 or 304 stainless steel braid, covered with an FEP outer jacket, providing the following protection:
Crush Resistance: Prevents cable damage from compression during installation or operation
Tensile Strength: Enhances overall cable pull strength for long-distance conduit routing
Abrasion Resistance: Prevents insulation damage from friction against metal conduits or equipment edges
Cut Resistance: Protects internal conductors from accidental cuts or sharp object damage
This model does not include pre-installed connector protectors, meaning:
The connector is exposed to the environment without additional oil or dust sealing
Suitable for dry, clean environments where the connector will not contact turbine oil, moisture, or dust
If protection against moisture, oil, or conduit abrasion is required, consider the 02 (standard cable + protector) or 03 (armored + protector) options
Selection Tip: If your installation environment involves risk of turbine oil exposure or requires pulling the connector through tight conduit, we recommend selecting a version with connector protectors (e.g.,
330130-080-02-00or330130-080-03-00). Silicone tape (mentioned in the datasheet) can be used for field protection but is not recommended for turbine oil environments.
330130-080-01-00 is suitable for the following typical applications:
Long-Distance Conduit Routing (Dry Environments): When cables must be routed through metal conduits or cable trays but the connector end requires no special sealing, the armor effectively protects the cable against sharp edges at conduit ends.
High Mechanical Stress Environments (No Oil Exposure): Near large turbomachinery, compressors, and generators, cables may be subjected to vibration, friction, or accidental impact — armor provides an extra margin of safety while the connector remains in a relatively clean area.
Cost-Sensitive Mechanical Protection Requirements: Compared to the 03 option, this model omits connector protectors, reducing procurement cost while still providing mechanical protection — ideal for budget-conscious projects that still require armor.
Long-Distance 9 m Systems: When paired with a 1.0 m probe, this cable completes a 9 m monitoring chain while ensuring mechanical reliability during long-distance routing.
Selection Notes:
Total Length Matching: Probe length + extension cable length = Proximitor Sensor total system length (5 m or 9 m). Verify your probe and Proximitor Sensor models to ensure total length matching.
Bend Radius: The minimum bend radius for armored cable remains 25.4 mm (1.0 in), the same as standard cable. However, the armor increases cable stiffness and outer diameter — allow sufficient clearance when routing in confined spaces.
Weight: Armored cable weighs approximately 103 g/m (standard cable is 34 g/m). For long-distance installations, consider the additional tensile load on connectors and probes.
Ambient Temperature: If the application environment exceeds +177°C, consider the ETR (Extended Temperature Range) armored cable series (e.g., 330190-080-01-00).
Connector Protection: If the connector may be exposed to oil mist, moisture, or requires conduit routing after installation, consider purchasing connector protectors separately (part numbers 40113-02 or 40180-02) for field installation.
Cable Outer Diameter:
Armored section: 7.67 mm (0.302 in) maximum
Armor ferrule: 10.2 mm (0.40 in) maximum
Non-armored section (near connector end): 3.68 mm (0.145 in) standard cable diameter
Connector: Features the ClickLoc design. Finger-tighten until an audible "click" is heard — no special tools are required.
Installation Tips: When routing through conduit, use a pull rope or fish tape attached to the cable jacket (not the connector) to avoid stress on the connector. If connector protection is needed after installation, silicone tape can be used (but note that silicone tape is not recommended for turbine oil environments).
For other lengths or configurations of armored extension cables (without protectors), refer to the following options:
Model | Length | Cable Option | Approvals | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
330130-040-01-00 | 4.0 m | Armored Cable | None | Standard 5 m system with mechanical protection |
330130-080-01-00 | 8.0 m | Armored Cable | None | Current model, long-distance mechanical protection applications |
330130-080-02-00 | 8.0 m | Standard Cable + Protector | None | Environmental sealing only, no armor |
330130-080-03-00 | 8.0 m | Armored + Protector | None | Both mechanical protection and environmental sealing |
330190-080-01-00 | 8.0 m | ETR High-Temp Armored Cable | None | High-temperature environments requiring mechanical protection |
Matching Probe: This cable is commonly used with the 330101 series probe.
